After various directions to the forces with demand to evacuate the buildings, so for 1463 buildings have been evacuated.
“So far 495 Government buildings and 968 private buildings have been vacated by the security forces to the alternate accommodation constructed for the purpose,” government documents revealed in a written reply in the Legislative Assembly on Friday.
There have been a number of directions from the union government and state government from past many years that forces should vacate these buildings.
“Government of India as well as state government have issued directions from time to time for vacation of all premises under occupation of forces in the state,” the document states, “for which funds are released in a phased manner by ministry of home affairs for construction of alternate accommodations.”
However the documents didn’t reveal the buildings that are still under forces occupation.
