15 Persons Trapped In Flood Rescued: Police

SRINAGAR: In view of inclement weather, incessant rain and flash flood in rivers, Police has launched rescue operations in different parts of Kathua especially vulnerable points to rescue trapped persons and prevent any casualty.

A police spokesman in a statement said that information received through locals to P/s Rajbagh Kathua that one person namely Kaasha son of  Abdul Karim a resident of  Chhabe Chak trapped in his house on the bank of river Ujh and three more families were trapped in a flash flood in Ujh river.

He said that on this Police team led by Station House Officer Bhopinder Singh with no waste of time reached on spot, starts rescue operation with the help of locals and rescued 14 persons including women and children.

He added that another person, who was found trapped in his house on the bank of Ujh river in Rajbagh, was also rescued.
