SRINAGAR: A 15-year-old boy was killed after being hit by a tractor in the Goswami Wader Brariangan area of Uttersoo in Anantnag district on Friday evening, officials said.
Quoting an official, news agency GNS reported that the accident occurred at Goswami Wader Brariangan when a tractor, bearing an unknown registration number and allegedly driven by Gulzar Ahmad Wani, son of Abdul Khaliq Wani, a resident of Uttersoo Chanderwaden, hit a cyclist identified as Muzamil Ahmad, son of Junaid Ahmad Khan, a resident of Goswami Wader Brariangan.
The boy, aged around 15, was immediately shifted to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Shangus, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Meanwhile, police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated proceedings.
