While sharing the details of the custodian property of the state, lower house of J&K Legislature was informed that government has retrieved 1507 kanals 16 marlas alongwith houses from illegal occupants since 2008. Pertinently most of the property retrieved is in Jammu.

The details were shared in response of the question raised by MLA Hakim Muhammed Yaseen Shah.

While talking about the allotment of the land to different departments after 2008, 176 kanal and 10 marlas has been allotted in favour of individuals and education department since 2008. An amount of Rs 2975.46 lakh has been charged as premier, of which Rs 2559.86 lakh has been realized.

Adding further, of 115 flats 59 has been allotted since 2008 to different individuals and department. 0f these 30 flats, situated at Meen Sarkar, Jammu has been allotted to the estates department on monthly rent of Rs 4585 per flat and 29 flat have been allotted to various individuals. Besides, 56 flats are constructed on self-finance basis but are yet to be allotted.
