SRINAGAR: A 17-year-old girl died after receiving an electric shock at Keegam in Kandi of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district this afternoon, according to official sources.
The girl, identified as Mehbooba Jan, daughter of Ghulam Mohammad Ganie and an actual resident of Izz Gund Khumriyal, received the electric shock at her adopted home in Keegam Kandi while cleaning the house, as per a close relative. “She was immediately taken to a nearby health facility, where she was declared brought dead on arrival,” they said.
A police official confirmed the death of the teenage girl and stated that they have taken cognizance of the incident for further investigations. (GNS)
