In pursuance to notification issued by Election Commission of India on March 29, 2014 for conducting 16th Lok Sabha Elections, 18 candidates have filed their nominations for 01-Baramulla Parliamentary Constituency during the stipulated time for filling nomination papers.
The candidates who have filled their nomination include Mr. Ghulam Mohammad Mir of Bharatiya Janata Party, Syed Mohd Rafiq Shah of National Panthers Party, Mr. Mohd Shafi Bhat of Bahujan Samaj Party, Mr. Muzaffar Hussain Baig of People’s Democratic Party, Mr. Sharief-ud-Din Shariq of National Conference, Mr. Ayaz Ahmad Sofi of Gareeb Aadmi Party, Mr. Bashir Ahmad Jagal of PRISM, Mr. Salam ud din Bajad and Mr. Khursheed Ahmad Khan of Peoples Conference besides Ulfat Sabba Ahmad, Mr. Tanveer Hussain, Ashiq Hussain Ganie, Aaga Syed Abdul Hussain Mossavi, Mr. Abdul Hamid Malik, Mr. Abdul Rashid Sheikh, Mr. Mohammad Abbas, Mr. Mohd Abdullah Chatwal and Mr. Nisar Ahmad Ahangar have filed their nominations as Independent candidates for 01-Baramulla Parliamentary Constituency.
The scrutiny of nomination papers shall be held on April 21, 2014 while date for withdrawal of nominations has been fixed April 23, 2014 and polling for the constituency is scheduled to be held on May 07, 2014.
In this connection, Returning officer 01-Baramulla Parliamentary Constituency has asked all the candidates to attend his office on April 21 at 11 a.m for the scrutiny of nomination papers.
