SRINAGAR: An 18-year-old boy drowned while bathing in the Manwar Tawi river near Bagnoti Nallah area in Rajouri district on Sunday afternoon.
Officials said the deceased has been identified as Nitesh Verma, son of Vijay Kumar, a resident of Chak Jaralan.
The incident occurred while the boy was bathing in the river and suddenly drowned. Soon after, local police reached the spot and called in the SDRF team to launch a rescue operation, the official said.
Efforts to retrieve the body were underway at the time of filing this report. (JKNS)
