SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir police arrested two individuals in Awantipora and Sopore and recovered contraband substances, psychotropic drugs, and cash from their possession.
“A police party from Police Post Reshipora, led by the Incharge of the post under the supervision of SDPO Awantipora, arrested a drug peddler at a checkpoint established at Reshipora. The accused has been identified as Towseef Ahmad Mir, son of Mohammad Yousuf Mir, a resident of Brawbandina. During the search, 1.240 kg of charas-like substance (in stick form) was recovered from his possession,” reads a police
it adds, “In another incident, a police party from Police Station Panzalla, under the supervision of SDPO Rafiabad, arrested a drug peddler at a checkpoint established at the Tri-Junction Vuhlutra-Shutloo Panzalla. The accused has been identified as Basharat Ahmad Beigh, son of Mohammad Afzal Beigh, a resident of Badam Bagh Sopore. During the search, 312 tablets of SpasmoProxyvon Plus and ₹10,000 in cash were recovered from his possession.”
Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of the NDPS Act have been registered at the respective police stations, and investigations have been initiated.
