SRINAGAR: An 18-year-old was killed in a tragic road accident involving a hit-and-run followed by a subsequent collision in the Tikker area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Thursday, officials said.
Officials said the deceased has been identified as Zeya Abroo Waza, son of Khursheed Ahmad Waza, a resident of Zurhama Trehgam.
He was riding a motorcycle from Zurhama towards Kupwara when, upon reaching Tikker, his vehicle collided with an unidentified WagonR car, which fled the scene.
They said that following the initial collision, the rider fell onto the road and was subsequently hit by another vehicle, a load carrier, resulting in critical injuries.
He was immediately shifted by locals to Sub-District Hospital Kupwara, where doctors declared him brought dead.
The body has been kept at SDH Kupwara for medico-legal formalities, and further investigation has been initiated. (KNC)
