SRINAGAR: At least seven passenger buses were damaged in a late-night fire incident at a bus stand in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Wednesday, officials said.
According to an official, the fire broke out around 11:27 PM, prompting an immediate response from fire and emergency services. Fire tenders rushed to the scene and, after strenuous efforts with assistance from police and local residents, the blaze was brought under control.
The official stated that three buses were completely gutted, three sustained partial damage, while another was affected by heat and smoke. No casualties or injuries were reported in the incident.
A police officer confirmed that a case has been registered, and the cause of the fire is being investigated. Further inquiries are underway.
