SRINAGAR: Jammu Police have arrested a 19-year-old boy who has emerged as a key suspect in an investigation into alleged online radicalisation, officials said on Thursday.
According to a statement, the accused, originally from Reasi and currently living in the Bathindi area of Jammu, has been taken into custody in connection with FIR No 331/2025 under section 113(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at Police Station Bahu Fort.
Investigators said preliminary findings indicate that the teenager had been radicalised online and was allegedly planning to execute a terror act. Police said the suspect had been in contact, via mobile communications, with certain numbers based in Pakistan and other foreign countries.
Digital devices recovered from him have been seized for forensic examination.
Police said detailed questioning of the suspect is underway and that a comprehensive investigation is in progress. (KNC)
