Two army men were killed after a water tanker in which they were travelling in skidded off the road and rolled down about 300 meters deep gorge in Mendhar area of Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.

A police official told GNS that a vehicle (Water Tanker) of army’s 15 MAHAR Regiment met with the accident at Dharana in Mendhar. “In the mishap two army men including driver of the vehicle received critical injuries”.

Both the injured were shifted to army’s MI unit in the area where doctors declared them as brought dead, he said.

The deceased have been identified as Ramesh Baghel and Sepoy KR Patel.

Meanwhile, police have registered a case and started further investigations in this regard, the official said.
