SRINAGAR: In the ongoing encounter in Lalpora (Pampore) two civilians are reported injured and have been hospitalized. Both are residents of Pampore.
A local newsgatherer, KNO identified the injured duo as Abid Nabi and Kifayat Ahmad. One of them is stated to be critically injured.

Block Medical Officer (BMO) Pampore, Gulzar Ahmad told the news gatherer that they di receive two injured persons, one with a head injury and another with thigh injury SDH Pampore and both were referred to Srinagar. “Abid Nabi with a critical head injury is undergoing treatment at SMHS Srinagar while Kifayat Ahmad is undergoing treatment at Bone and Joint hospital Srinagar,” a health official said.
The encounter in the locality started late Thursday evening. The police reports indicate that they have been able to establish contact with the militants encircled by the counterinsurgent forces. The mixed column of the counter-insurgent forces includes 50-Rashtriya Rifles, police and the CRPF. They have installed flood rights around the locality to ensure the holed up insurgents do not succeed in fleeing during the darkness.
