Despite rebukes and warnings, the BSNL in the flood ravaged valley continues with its erratic mobile services, making the subscribers suffer at large in most areas here.

Scores of subscribers told KNS that their BSNL services are out of order with no one from the office ready to listen to their woes. They said that despite, the BSNL office duly charging them, little efforts are being made to rectify the issues that perturb the people here at large.

They added that the mobile network of BSNL is in a total mess and that its subscribers are facing the tough time while connecting the calls. “We are being compelled by the BSNL office to change our numbers but the only issue that we face is that we have given our numbers to our relatives, friends and known ones,” said one of the aggrieved BSNL subscribers.

Others stated that their services are, sans any reason, being disconnected and later contrary text messages are being sent to them. “At one point, I was told that m bill is 1030. A day larer, I received another message that my bill for September is 1350 and then at around 6 P.M my phone was disconnected. This is the height of the mismanagement,” said Mohammad Maqbool, the BSNL subscriber.

Meanwhile, scores of other aggrieved users told KNS that their landline and broadband services are yet to get restored with the office of the BSNL in slumber over such pathetic services. “My broadband service was halted on September 5 and till date, no effort, despite the repeated requests, were made for service restoration,” said Adil Farooq, a Magarmal Bagh resident.

The DC Srinagar in the recent past summoned the BSNL authorities here, warning them of stern action if the services are not restored. Later several civil societies and public forums also castigated the BSNL for taking subscribers for a ride without any remorse.
