Police and CRPF have been asked to remain extra vigilant as two motorbikes were stolen from Srinagar city, official sources said on Saturday.

A motorcycle Hero Honda Passion bearing registration number JK01H/7036 belonging to Ghulam Nabi Dar son of Ghulam Mohammad resident of Nowbugh Batpora, Zakoora has been stolen from Telbal Yard, Hazratbal, Srinagar on August 2, 2013.

Meanwhile, Umar Abu Bakar son of Mohammad Sultan Langoo resident of MR Gunj reported in police station Batamaloo, Srinagar that his motorcycle bearing registration number JK01G/3037 has been stolen from Iqbalabad Bemina, Srinagar along with documents on August 2, 2013.

Police have registered cases in both the incidents and have started further investigations in this regard.

Meanwhile, the security forces have been asked to remain on a lookout for motorbikes which were stolen from Srinagar city, the official sources said. They said the agencies apprehend that militants might use the stolen bikes to stage any attack.

The Police and CRPF have set up check points at various places in the city after motorbikes were stolen and have been asked to remain vigilant across the city, sources added.
