SRINAGAR: The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has posted 2007-batch AGMUT cadre IAS officer Govind Jaiswal to the Jammu and Kashmir segment of the cadre following his repatriation from Central deputation.
The posting will take effect immediately and remain in force until further orders, according to an order issued by the ministry.
“Consequent upon his repatriation from the Central deputation, Govind Jaiswal, IAS (AGMUT: 2007) is hereby posted to Jammu and Kashmir segment of the AGMUT Cadre with immediate effect and until further orders,” the order stated.
Jaiswal previously served as Joint Secretary in the Department of Higher Education under the Ministry of Education. His return to the parent cadre marks the end of his Central deputation, with his next assignment in the Jammu and Kashmir segment.
A 2007-batch IAS officer of the Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram and Union Territories (AGMUT) cadre, Jaiswal rose from humble beginnings in Varanasi, where his father worked as a rickshaw puller. He secured an all-India rank of 48 in the UPSC Civil Services Examination on his first attempt.
