KL Report

SRINAGAR

A local court Monday rejected the report submitted by police with regard to 2010 killings and directed SSP Srinagar to furnish and submit the report himself by or before May 5 next month.

Pertinently, the Chief judicial magistrate Srinagar V S Bhou had directed the Senior Superintendent of Police, Srinagar to submit a report on or before April 6 on a complaint filed by Hurriyat Conference (G) to book former chief minister, Omar Abdullah, for his role in the killing of over 120 youth during 2010 summer agitation. The complaint against former CM was filed Hurriyat general secretary, Ghulam Nabi Sumji.

The counsel for the applicant Advocate Muhammad Shafi Reshi told CNS that Court rejected the report as the report was furnished and submitted by SP headquarters.

“The Court had asked SSP to himself prepare and submit the report before it. However, the SSP Srinagar deputed SP Headquarters for the job and the move was not accepted by the court,” Reshi said.

The case has been listed for the next hearing on May 6, 2015.
