The state government Friday said that total of 2300 prisoners are lodged in Jammu and Kashmir prisons who include 343 convicts, 37 under PSA and 1920 under trials.

Minister for Horticulture, Hajj & Auqaf Mr Abdul Rehman Veeri said while replying on behalf of the Chief Minister to a question by Ali Mohammad Dar in the Legislative Council on Friday.

He said that out of 37 PSA detenues, 17 are locals and 20 are foreigners.

According to an official statement, the minister said that no Indian Prisoner who has completed his term of sentence is lodged in Jails of J&K State.
