SRINAGAR: The body of a man, missing for the past two months, was recovered near Budshah Bridge in Srinagar’s Lal Chowk area on Monday, officials said.
An official said that locals spotted the body near the bridge and immediately informed the police.
He said the police, along with the SDRF, soon arrived at the scene, retrieved the body from the water using boats, and shifted it to the hospital for medico-legal formalities.
The deceased was later identified as Hilal Ahmad Dar (24), son of Bilal Ahmad Dar, a resident of Palapora Parimpora, who had been reported missing two months ago. A missing report had been filed at his concerned police station.
Meanwhile, an investigation is underway to ascertain the circumstances leading to his death, and further details are awaited. (KNO)
