SRINAGAR: Authorities on Friday issued a traffic diversion plan along the Srinagar-Baramulla highway, in view of the 25th Muharram procession on August 13.

They said the diversions have have been put in place to ensure the convenience and safety of both the general public and the mourners participating in the event.

“ The vehicle movement shall remain affected from Hartrath (Singhpora) to Narbal on the national highway from 12 am to 7: 00 pm,” a Traffic Police in an advisory said.

Srinagar-bound vehicles coming from various places of north Kashmir like Kupwara, Handwara and Sopore will be diverted from Hygam to Sumbal to HMT. Vehicles coming to Srinagar from Baramulla and Uri shall be allowed from Hamrey Gate, Pattan to Sumbal leading to HMT Srinagar. Further Srinagar-bound vehicles from Hamrey Pattan shall be allowed via Hartarth Bridge to Khampath to Shadipora to HMT Srinagar.

Meanwhile, north Kashmir Bound HMVs shall be allowed from Narbal Magam, Kungumdara, Khore, Hanjwara Pattan and north Kashmir bound LMVs shall be allowed via Narbal to Kanihama to Nooripora to Archanderhama to Gund Khoja Qasim to Jeel Bridge to Pattan.
