“It happened at around 10 am and it was so massive that it destroyed a massive pocket,” Ali Mohammad, whose house was also destroyed in the fire said. “We do not know the actual reasons that led to the conflagaration.”
“I visited the area and found there were 26 families living in these half a dozen houses,” Deputy Commission Srinagar,Dr Farooq A Lone said. “We distributed a cash relief of Rs 2000 per house hold and gave some blankets from the red cross.” Dr Lone said the administration will quickly extend all possible help to the families to stay safe in harsg winter.
