SRINAGAR: Union Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai Tuesday informed the Lok Sabha that as many as 2,639 government jobs have been provided to Kashmiri migrants under Prime Minister’s Development Package (PMDP), 2015.

In a written reply, Rai as per the news agency KNO, said that said that 2,639 government jobs have been provided to Kashmiri migrants under Prime Minister’s Development Package (PMDP), 2015.

He also said that the government has approved construction of 6,000 transit accommodation for Kashmiri migrant employees engaged or to be engaged in different departments of the government of J&K in the valley. He also said the government of J&K has launched a portal on September 7, 2021 to address the grievances of Kashmiri migrants.

The government of India reimburses the expenditure incurred by the government of Jammu and Kashmir on providing the following facilities to the eligible Kashmiri migrants settled in Jammu, he said.

“Monthly cash relief at current rate and Total of Rs.13,000/- per family subject to a ceiling of Rs.3250/- per person Ratio. In the form of 9 kg rice, 2 kg flour per person and 1 kg sugar per family, 3250/- per head in case Kashmiri migrants settled in Delhi,” he said.

“Reimbursement of expenditure incurred by the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (GNCTD) for providing monthly cash relief of Rs.1000/- to GNCTD. per person,” he added.

In another reply, the minister said that net infiltration from across the Indo-Pak border into J&K in 2021 stood at 34 in 2021, down from 51 in 2020 and 138 in 2019. In 2021, 12 infiltrators were killed on the border but none were arrested.
