Government on Wednesday came out with the names of 301 cases registered against alleged officials/officers along with the particulars and the stage of investigation with the Vigilance Organization and the Crime Branch against which cases of corruption are pending.
In response to a question asked by communist leader Yousuf Tarigami, the government also revealed the names of two officials who have been convicted by the Crime Branch Jammu.
According to data provided by the government in the legislative assembly, 94 cases registered against alleged corrupt officers/officials stand registered in Kashmir division in corruption charges with the Vigilance Organization while as 95 cases are pending against such officials /officers in Jammu division.
Crime Branch Jammu has so far registered 80 cases against alleged corrupt officers/officials after charges of corruption etc however Crime Branch Kashmir has registered 31 cases against alleged corrupt officers/officials.
The government said that Special Judge Anti-Corruption Court, Jammu has convicted Mohammad Ashraf Bhat and others under FIR No 444/2001 and 7/2002 in 2012. The same Court has convicted then Store Keeper KPCC Janki Raj Gupta in FIR No 7/1999 in 2011.
