As per police spokesman, the three cops including a head constable were shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Amshipora Shopian on Monday afternoon.
“All the three were without any weapon when militants in army fatigue attacked them near Amshipora village,” the spokesman said. “The three policemen had gone to the village to investigate a civil case.”
The deceased have been identified as Head Constable Mushtaq Ahmad of Adigam Pulwama, Constable Nisar Ahmad of Sopore and Constable Shabir Ahmad of Leh.
Pertinently, early today, a gunman shot a cop in Pattan area and left him badly injured.
