A 24-year-old woman from Poonch district in Jammu on Saturday lodged a complaint against three Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel for allegedly confining and raping her at the CRPF Group Centre at Bantalab, on the outskirts of the Jammu, reported The Indian Express.

The woman has alleged that she was intercepted by three CRPF personnel when she lost her way to her relative’s place. The men took her inside the camp while pretending like they were trying to help her. In the camp, one of them raped her while the other filmed the entire sexual assault on his phone. Later, they threatened her to upload the video on social media if she tried to inform the police about the matter.

Ashish Kumar Jha, a CRPF spokesperson informed a newspaper that the three CRPF personnel have been suspended. Jha pointed out that the two the CRPF personnel along with the woman were found inside the CRPF Group Centre. The woman was allowed to go home while both the CRPF were suspended for breaching the security.

The woman lodged her complaint after one of the personnel uploaded the video on a social networking site.

“The CRPF is rendering full co-operation to the state police in the investigation so that the guilty get punished, he said, adding that it being “a very disciplined and professional force does not tolerate any act by its personnel which could malign its image,” Ashish told The Indian Express.

The police will proceed with the further investigation after the woman’ medical examination is done.
