Army claimed arrest of a Hizbul Mujahedeen Militant commander along with his two associates in Bandipora district on Wednesday.
Sources told Kashmir Life that Abdul Rashid Chichi, alias Talib Jalali, was arrested in Ajas area early Wednesday. Chichi was arrested along with his two companions during a naka, they added.
However, police sources said that Chichi and other two militants surrendered before 13 RR. They added that Chichi was an active militant in late nineties when he was arrested however he became active after his release.
According to police sources a resident of Ajas area, Chichi is involved in a number of cases and he was arrested and released many times since late nineties.
Meanwhile, a complete shutdown was observed in Ajas, when the news spread in the area. Shopkeepers pulled down their shutters and other business establishments were closed.
