Army has cordoned a large group of about 30 militants in Keran sector of Kashmir along the Line of Control (LoC), Thursday morning.

Defence sources said that Army foiled a major infiltration bid along the Line of Control (LoC) in Keran sector and a group of 30 militants is believed to be trapped in the security forces cordon.

Sources said that Army personnel engaged in the operation, which began on September 24, have reported sighting of 10 to 12 bodies of militants but confirmation about the deaths can be made only after the operation ends.

According to sources on the pattern of gunfire exchanged with the militants, their number is believed to be more than 30.
