SRINAGAR: Encouraging and appreciating the hard work of the wards of Police personnel who have excelled in the 10th and 12th annual examination during the academic session 2020-2021, the Director-General of Police, Jammu and Kashmir Dilbag Singh has sanctioned meritorious scholarships of over rupees 15.50 lakh in favour of 308 wards of serving police personnel/SPOs under different orders.
A police spokesman in a statement said that the DGP has sanctioned rupees 9.33 lakh for 155 meritorious wards of serving Police personnel/SPOs who have secured above 90% marks in the Annual Examination of Class 10th and 12th during the academic session 2020-21.
“Among these rupees 7200 each have been sanctioned in favour of three meritorious wards of class 12th and rupees 6000 each have been sanctioned in favour of 152 meritorious wards of class 10th,” he said.
He also sanctioned meritorious scholarship of rupees 6.24 lakh in favour of 153 wards of serving Police personnel/SPOs who have secured 80% and above marks in the Annual Examination of class 10th & 12th during the academic session 2020-21.
Among these rupees 6000, each has been sanctioned in favour of eight meritorious wards who have secured 80% and above marks, in class 12th and rupees 4000 each have been sanctioned in favour of 144 meritorious wards who have secured 80% and above marks in the annual examination of class 10th. The amount has been sanctioned out of Central Police Welfare Fund and Police Pariwar Fund.
Police Headquarters has been sanctioning scholarships, rewards, welfare loan/ relief for police personnel, wards of slain and serving/retired Police personnel under different schemes to boost their morale, said the police spokesman in a statement.
