SRINAGAR: A 31-year-old man from Pakistan was apprehended by security forces after allegedly crossing the Line of Control (LoC) in the Balakote sector of Poonch district on Sunday, officials said.
Officials said that the man was taken into custody shortly after he allegedly crossed into the Indian side of the LoC in the Balakote sector.
They identified the individual as Rayees Khan, 31, a resident of Pakistan. He is being questioned to ascertain the purpose of the crossing and determine whether he acted alone or had any accomplices.
“He was taken into custody soon after crossing to this side of the LoC,” the officials said.
Meanwhile, security has been tightened and surveillance intensified along the LoC in the area as a precautionary measure, they added. (KNO)
