SRINAGAR: A 35-year-old man lost his life on Sunday after a branch of a Chinar tree fell on him.
Quoting sources, Kashmir Scroll reported that the victim, identified as Showkat Ahmad Mir, son of Nazir Ahmad Mir from Zalangam Kokernag, was hit by the branches of a Chinar tree at Lokbawa. He said the deceased was working as a woodcutter.
Despite immediate transportation to a nearby hospital, doctors declared him dead upon arrival.
A police officer said that a case regarding the incident has been registered. Following legal medical procedures, his body will be handed over to the family for final rites. (KS)
