SRINAGAR: As many as 154 government employees were dismissed so far from service after they were found to be involved in anti-national activities, LG Sinha said on Saturday.

Speaking at the ET Now Global Business Summit 2024, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha affirmed that the government will continue to take action against such individuals.

Holding Article 370 responsible for militancy and separatism in Jammu and Kashmir, the LG took a dig at pervious governments and accused them of pushing Jammu and Kashmir into turmoil. Sinha said while stone pelting and strikes at the behest of Pakistan has become history, “Today’s reality is that the youth are holding the tricolour with pride.”

He said that cinema halls were reopened in the Valley after 30 years and markets no longer wear a deserted look.

“The transformation in Jammu and Kashmir is credited to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, achieving once deemed impossible targets, notably the Article 370 abrogation. Stone pelting and Pakistan-backed strikes are history, with the region now progressing akin to other parts of India, witnessing the revival of nightlife and cinema halls. Sinha affirmed his administration’s firm stance against Pakistan supporters, prioritizing the restoration of law and order,” the LG added. (KNS)
