SRINAGAR: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday lauded the outgoing Lok Sabha, stating that for generations, people dreamt of one Constitution. However, this House made that dream possible by removing Article 370, which had granted the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir special rights.
Speaking on the last day of Parliament’s Budget session he said, “Lok Sabha enables one constitution by scrapping Article 370. This pivotal action fulfills generations’ dreams and marks a historic step towards unity and progress in our nation.”
He said that many game-changing reforms including the passage of the women’s reservation bill were made in the period that laid the foundation of a strong India.
“The country has moved towards big changes at a fast pace and all members of the House made an important contribution. Such works were completed for which people had waited for centuries,” PM Modi said.
