365 Medical Officers Posted in Remote Areas: Sakina Itoo

   

SRINAGAR: Minister for Health and Medical Education, Sakeena Itoo, informed the House that the government is making efforts to ensure healthcare services reach all areas of JK.

The Minister said this while responding to a question from Mir Mohammad Fayaz.

She said that 365 medical officers have recently been appointed and posted in remote and underserved areas facing doctor shortages.

Sakina Itoo said that the Health and Medical Education Department does not encourage doctor attachments and is committed to ensuring healthcare services are available across J&K, including far-flung and underserved regions.

She also informed the House that some deployments are made in exceptional cases due to personal circumstances, primarily health-related. She added that such adjustments are made while maintaining the overall efficiency of the healthcare system.
