4 injured as Tavera plunges into gorge on Batote-Doda road

Four persons received serious injuries when a vehicle, they were traveling in, skidded off the road and plunged into Dansal Jathi Nallah near Assar on Batote-Doda highway Thursday morning.

The ill-fated vehicle bearing registration number JK06-7103 was on its way to Jammu from Gundoh when it met with the accident.

Reports said before landing at the bottom of the gorge, the vehicle collided with several rocks thereby causing grievous injuries to all passengers. A police team from Assar Police Station immediately swung into action and started rescue operation with the help of locals and health department and shifted all to Community Health Center Assar.

The seriously injured were identified as Shafiqa Begum wife of Abdul Rashid resident of Gundoh , Jozifa Rehan daughter of Ab Rashid resident of Gundoh and Sheryar Zargar son of Mohd Ishaq Zargar resident of  Thathri while the identity of the fourth passenger is yet to be ascertained.

The condition of the injured is said to be out of danger.
