Thousands of people from dozens of villages in Pulwama district Thursday participated in the funeral prayers of slain LeT Commander Mohammad Ayoub Lone alias Ayoub Lelhari.
Lelhari was killed by forces late last evening during a brief shootout at Banderpora village of the district.
Witnesses said that two rounds of funeral prayers were held for Ayoub at his native village Lelhar before he was laid to rest.
Meanwhile, a complete shutdown is being observed in Pulwama, Kakapora, Pampore and other areas to mourn the killing of Ayoub Lelhari.
All shops and business establishments, schools and colleges remained closed while traffic was off the roads.
