SRINAGAR: In the Zaloora hamlet of Sopore, in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, a man in his 40s was discovered dead under suspicious circumstances. The family members and neighbours of the deceased have raised allegations of murder and are urging the police to thoroughly investigate the case.

Quoting an official, KNO reported that the family of Reyaz Ahmed, filed a missing person report on Friday morning at police Station Bomai .

“In response, a police party searched, leading to the discovery of his body near his house under mysterious circumstances. The body was then taken to the Sub District Hospital Sopore for necessary medical procedures before being handed over to the family for the final rites,”official said.

Reyaz’s lifeless body was recovered from a small water-filled trench, according to officials.

Relatives of Mir stated that he left house around 12 pm and despite their efforts to find him, he could not be located. ” Reyaz, a father of three daughters and a son, was a humble, pious, and religious man. He would have never resorted to such an extreme step like suicide. It appears to be a case of murder that requires a thorough investigation,” they asserted.”

The matter should be investigated and involved must be taken to task, they added. “There were visible marks on his neck as well,” they alleged.

The wailing relatives as well as neighbours of Reyaz urged the Deputy Commissioner Baramulla and SSP Sopore to personally intervene into the matter and take strict action against the involved persons.
