SRINAGAR: Israel has launched fresh wave of airstrikes on the war-torn Gaza Strip killing at least 41 Palestinians and wounding dozens more on Monday, as per AP.
In southern and central Gaza, at least 19 people were killed and several remain missing under the rubble after homes were hit by Israeli air raids early in the morning, it. In Deir al-Balah, central Gaza, a strike on a family home killed one woman and injured several others, according to eyewitnesses. Three people were killed and several others wounded when a home in the al-Daraj neighborhood of eastern Gaza City was targeted, Gaza health authorities reported.
Another five Palestinians were killed in a strike on an apartment in the al-Mawasi area, west of Khan Younis in southern Gaza. In a separate attack, 10 people were killed and more than 30 injured when Israeli forces struck a three-story house in the so called “Japanese” neighborhood west of the city. Three others were killed and several injured in an airstrike on a home in the al-Maghazi refugee camp in central Gaza, it reported.
Furthermore, Israel has maintained an incessant blockade on Gaza and, since March 2 closing all border crossings, further deepening the humanitarian crisis.
Meanwhile, despite growing international pressure for a ceasefire, the Israeli military continues its attacks on Gaza, launched on October 7, 2023. Nearly 60,000 Palestinians, majority women and children have been killed and large parts of its territory lie in ruins amid severe food shortages and ongoing bombardment.
