The strike of patwaris (revenue officials) entered 43rd day on Sunday with Commissioner Secretary Revenue Vinod Koul asserting that government has already accepted two demands of the striking patwaris.

“Out of six demands government has accepted the two. The patwaris should call off their strike now. Within next few days we will officially announce that the two demands have been fulfilled. But patwaris have to call off their strike first,” Vinod said.

Meanwhile, the Patwar Association called on Agriculture Minister Ghulam Hassan Mir on Sunday who urged them to call off their strike. The patwaris appraised Mir about their problems who assured them that he will take up the issue in the cabinet.

However, the patwaris have declined to call off the strike saying government has time and again ‘ditched’ them.
