SRINAGAR: An elderly man was injured after being attacked by a bear in the Khurhama Lolab area in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Thursday.
GNS reported that Mohammad Yousaf Mir (50) was attacked by a female bear, roaming around the area in Shranth Khurhama. He was grievously injured in the attack and shifted to a nearby health facility for immediate medical attention.
Meanwhile, the Wildlife Department has launched an operation to tranquilize the roaming bear at the earliest to avoid any untoward incident in the area.
