Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Ghulam Ahmad Khwaja distributed certificates of success to the students from different parts of the country who learned basic, intermediate and advance techniques of the snow skiing at the world famous ski school of Gulmarg.

Majority of the students are from Kashmir. There were 40 students from DPS Srinagar lead by their sports teach Tajinder Singh who himself is a skier.

The remaining students were from all other parts of the country including some students from Indian Navy. Most of the naval students saw snow first time and were very thrilled to learn the skiing in IISM Institute.

IISM has become popular that all its ski courses are booked in November as soon as it opens booking. Institute also conducts various adventure activities in the summer such as water skiing, parasailing, hot air ballooning, trekking etc throughout the year.

Khwaja complemented the students for having qualified in the ski course from IISM. “This ski course has not only taught you a new skill for skiing but also transformed your personality as a better human being,” Khwaja said on the occasion. He said that Institute aims to train local youth in different adventure activities so as to develop new skills in them and generate huge employment for them in the tourism sector. He said Institute also fields local youth in the National and International Ski Championships.
