The Khyber Himalayan Resort & Spa, Gulmarg appointed Aditya Mata as its Vice President and General Manager. Mata comes to The Khyber with over two decades of experience in the hospitality industry across various formats, brands and locations spanning the Middle East, Nepal, Africa and India.
Previously, Mata has worked with brands like The Oberoi Group, The Inter Continental, Sahar in Mumbai, The Doha Sheraton, Qatar, Shangri-La Village Resort, Pokhara and Soaltee Crowne Plaza, Kathmandu in Nepal, and many other brands. It was during his tenure at the Diana Reef Beach Resort & Spa Mombasa, that the resort earned accolades and was conferred the title “Africa’s Leading Beach Resort” by the prestigious World Travel Awards – Africa and Indian Ocean.
Mata’s experience in the hospitality industry is comprehensive and spans most areas including revenue management, HR solutions, training, global distribution and marketing besides creating a high value brand through personalization and enhancement of the guest satisfaction index. He is recognized for bringing in value and operational efficiency to any business model.
The Khyber Himalayan Resort & Spa, Gulmarg located at an elevation of 8,825 ft. in the Pir Panjal range of the majestic Himalayas is spread over seven acres in a pristine pine valley. This international 85-key resort, clad in timber and stone, offers views of snow capped Affarwat peaks.
The resort is an easy walk from the Gulmarg Gondola, the highest ski lift in the world.
