SRINAGAR: A 55-year-old man was critically injured after being attacked by a wild bear in the Surankote area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district on Saturday.
The injured man has been identified as Nazir Ahmed, son of Abdullah, a resident of Fazalabad Nar, Surankote, reports said.
According to reports, Ahmed was in his native area when the bear suddenly attacked him, causing serious injuries, particularly to his face.
Locals rushed him to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Surankote for medical treatment.
Following the incident, local residents urged the Wildlife Department to take necessary measures to prevent further bear attacks in the area.
