Protests were held on Friday in a south Kashmir village of Bulbul Nowgam, demanding stern action against a 55 year old man for allegedly molesting a 15 years old girl.
Sources said that people caught hold of the accused and beat him to pulp resulting in his severe injuries. The accused was later hospitalized by police resulting in the anger among masses who pelted stones on the men in uniform.
Locals of Bulbul Nowgam alleged that 55 Year old Gull Mohammad Sheikh molested a 15 year old girl late last night.
When the news spread in the morning the shop keepers of the area pulled their shutters down and started protesting along with the villagers.
The protesters were demanding stern action against the accused.
Police sources said that in the meantime protesters caught hold of the accused and beat him resulting in his injuries. Police on the occasion somehow managed to get hold of the accused and hospitalized him in Islamabad.
The porters blocked the road and pelted stones on Police resulting in the tension in the area.
Police sources told Kashmir Life that a case FIR No 74 of 2014 u/s 376 and 506 has been lodged in police station Sader, Islamabad and the investigation has been started.
Locals allege that Sheikh has actually raped the girl, but police said that investigation is under process and nothing is certain unless they reach any conclusion.
