ISLAMABAD

Opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti on Friday had to file a fresh set of nomination papers for Islamabad Lok Sabha seat because she had forgotten to mention an active bank account number in her first set of papers.

“The PDP president filed a second set of nomination papers as a measure of abundant precaution,” PDP sources said.

Mehbooba had filed her first set of nomination papers on Tuesday but had not mentioned an active bank account number in her papers as required by the Election Commission.

Sources said that PDP president had furnished the active bank account number, later but she filed another set of nomination papers on Friday.

Islamabad is going to polls on April 24.
