Government on Wednesday informed the legislative assembly that Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) has privatized the hoardings in Srinagar city in 2006 and since then the corporation has earned revenue of Rs. 4.43 crore.

Replying to a question, Minister for Urban Development and Urban Local Bodies, Nawang Rigzin Jora said, “SMC privatized the hoardings in the city in 2006 and since then it has earned revenue of Rs. 4.43 crore.”

He further said that the Jammu Municipal Corporation has given the advertisement rights of hoardings to M/S Selvel Media Services Private Limited for advertising within municipal limits after charging the requisite license fee which has been to the tune of Rs. 255.02 crore during the last two years.
