Giving details about the landslide incident in the Sadna top area, police said that during a night long rescue operation police, Army and civil administration rescued about 200 people who had got stranded due to bad weather and landslides on Kupwara-Karnah road last night near Sadnah top.

Police said that the stranded passengers included women, children and old people boarding in about 25 Tata Sumos and Tata mobiles have been rescued and sent to their respective destinations.

Police statement added that one ambulance carrying an injured person was also stuck on the road. These vehicles got stranded because of the landslides and bad weather last evening.

The statement further added that the Beacon authorities worked hard for the clearance of the road. The rescue operation was supervised by the top Police/civil/Army officers.
