SRINAGAR

One person died while four others were injured in different road accidents across the valley and two structures were damaged in fire, police said in a statement.

The statement giving details of mishaps said: A Tata 407 bearing registration number Jk03C/4720 hit and injured a pedestrian Zeba wife of Ghulam Hassan Sheikh resident of Zadipora Khanabal at KP road. The injured was shifted to District Hospital, Anantnag where she succumbed to her injuries.

In another mishap, a Sumo bearing registration number JK05B/9872 hit and injured a pedestrian Noor Hussain Shah son of Qasim Ali Shah resident of Dari Muqam at Boniyar, Baramulla. The injured was shifted to District Hospital, Baramulla for treatment.

In Qazigund, a Maruti bearing registration number JK02Q/3588 hit and injured a pedestrian Abdul Majeed Wagay son of Abdul Aziz resident of Churrat at Gousia College, Qazigund, Kulgam. The injured was shifted to District Hospital, Anantnag for treatment.

In another accident, a Sumo bearing registration number JK09/7571 turned turtle at Doniwari, in the jurisdiction of Police Station Sogam. In this accident two passengers were injured, who were shifted to Sub District Hospital, Kupwara for treatment.

It added that police posts concerned have registered cases in the accidents.

Meanwhile, fire broke out in the Middle school building at Dungdoora, Baramulla, resulting in damage to the building. Fire was brought under control by Fire tenders and police.

The statement further said that fire broke out in the building of Government Joinery Mills Pampore, resulting in partial damage to the building. Fire was brought under control by Fire tenders and police. The cause of fire is due to electric short circuit.
