As per the state government, a total of 578530 beneficiaries are registered under various pension schemes of the government. However the social welfare department has made it clear it has not done any population survey as on date.
Under various schemes a total of 48242 beneficiaries are registered in Kupwara, 36057 in Baramulla, 34119 in Budgam, 33820 in Srinagar, 31674 in Islamabad, 20754 in Ganderbal, , 19857 in Kulgam, 17741 in Banipora, 8590 in Shopian, 5656 in Pulwama, 3053 in Leh and 7717 in Kargil.
Under ISSSS (Integrated Social Security scheme) a total of 215563 beneficiaries are registered, under IGNOAPS (Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension Scheme) a total of 66103 beneficiaries are registered, under IGNDPS (Indra Gandhi National Disability Pension Scheme) a total of 2095 beneficiaries are registered, under IGNWPS (Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme) a total of 2424 beneficiaries are registered, under NFBS (National Family Benefit Scheme) a total of 2000 beneficiaries are registered.
While as 85172 members under various schemes in Jammu region are yet to get registered.
