Two fresh batches of 63 aspiring entrepreneurs including eleven females passed out from Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) after completing the three-week training programme.

The candidates were trained at JKEDI district offices of Kishtwar and Rajouri under Seed Capital Fund Scheme and Youth Start Up Loan Scheme being implemented by the institute for entrepreneurship development in the State of Jammu and Kashmir, a statement issued by EDI Tuesday evening said.

The three-week Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP) were modelled for manufacturing, services, and agri-allied sectors. The aspiring entrepreneurs have chosen various activities to start their entrepreneurial journey.

The unemployed youth, who are all set to start their own business ventures now, were exposed to a comprehensive training course (EDP) to equip them with what they need to start a profitable business.

In Rajouri, 19 candidates have chosen the services sector, six have opted for agri and allied sectors and one candidate has given preference to manufacturing sector.

EDPs (training) are part of institute’s on-going process to reach every nook and corner of the state and equip unemployed youth with life sustainable business skills.

The EDPs are aimed at providing lessons on skill development, performance improvement as well as business cum sector specific and self-development training to the participating youth.
