SRINAGAR: A 65-year-old man was critically injured in an attack by a bear in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Wednesday morning.
An official identified the man as Wali Mohammad Sheikh son of Habibullah Sheikh of Dolipora village in Tehsil Vilgam of the district.
The sexagenarian was outside his home when the bear attacked him during the wee hours today, the official said.
SHO Villgam Mohammad Suleiman told news agency GNS that the man has been shifted to a Srinagar hospital for advanced treatment.
